Tuesday, April 11th

I will start with Yesterday :)

Monday morning Gary let me sleep in an extra 30 minutes. He had to take the van in for servicing so he offered to bring Darrelyn to school. It was so nice to get up, have a coffee and only have to worry about getting Darrelyn dressed, cleaned and polished. As apposed to getting myself, Breanna and Darrelyn ready.

After Darrelyn left, I started the laundry and put away a bunch left over from last week. Then I cleaned the kitchen (it was bad) and the living room (not so bad).

Just after lunch I received a call from Darrelyn's teacher. She said that Darrelyn was saying her tummy hurt for about the last 45 minutes. She had already eaten lunch and claimed it still hurt.

Before I go on, here's some history. She has asked the teacher to call me to get her about 3 times already. Each time, she is fine after being home for about 20 minutes. We figured that maybe it was because she was hungry and that is why the teacher made her eat first. So there it is... as early as 5 years old and Darrelyn is learning how to play the system.

Back to the story. Breanna and I walked to the school (Gary had the van you'll remember) As we arrived the children were going out to play. I saw Darrelyn's teacher and she told me that Darrelyn was feeling better now*sigh* I told her I was going to have a talk with Darrelyn. Her teacher felt bad about calling, but I'm glad she did. Its not the teacher's choice on whether or not my child is sick and its not up to her to tell my daughter she's faking ;) In talking to Darrelyn I told her that the teacher was not allowed to call me unless Darrelyn actually sicks up. Even if her tummy hurts, she has to sit through school until its done.

After the lecture, Breanna and I brought Darrelyn to the playground and walked home. When I got home, Bre and I cuddled a bit and I crocheted a bit. Then, an hour later, we went back out to pick up Darrelyn. This time we brought Buddy, of course.

The girls played quite well in the afternoon and evening. Which is really good because Gary had to work until 10pm and I was feeling down. You know, that kind of detached feeling. When he came home, I was just heading to bed. I didn't want to unload on him after such a long day at work and I honestly didn't want him to unload on me. We talked this morning instead :)

So today....

This morning, after taking Darrelyn to school, Bre and I got the groceries (very badly needed) and she helped me put them away. Then I packed the "green bag" with her lunch and a snack for after school. I cleaned the kitchen and dropped her off at Sarah's house.

I went to volunteer for pizza day at the school. I messed up today, but it was quickly fixed and all was good. The student volunteers didn't come to do the milk trays so I stayed a bit later and filled them as well.

After picking up Breanna, and visiting with Sarah, we went back to the school and I filled the milk trays that were still missing earlier. After school, we headed to Rockwood Park.

Just as the girls started playing, a guy from the Telegraph Journal asked me if he could take their pictures. I didn't mind at all. Although, he probably didn't know Darrelyn had a dirty face at the time. Anyway, he took some pictures and got their names and said that he wasn't sure if they'd be in the paper or not, all he does is submit them.

The girls continued playing and I got a few pictures of my own. Then we left around 4pm to head home and make supper.

After supper, I cleaned up and headed to the gym. The lady at the desk commented that she hadn't seen me in awhile. Its nice to be missed ;D I told her about falling down the stairs.

After my work out, I cleaned the pots that were soaking from supper and put the girls to bed. Now, here I am.

Just call me "Soccer Mom"

Last week was a write-off. I cleaned the first half of the week and then caught a stomach bug on Thursday. Good news is that I went shopping Wednesday night.

Friday, after supper, we headed to F'ton for the weekend. Gary still had a couple of free hotel room passes so we decided to use em. I was quite surprised at how well the girls calmed down considering how excited they were. They were actually asleep by 9:00pm.

Darrelyn woke up around 7 on Saturday morning. She was really excited to go have breakfast. Why was she so excited? Because, "I get to pick any cereal I want!" Yup, that's right, she gets to pick sugary goodness that is froot loops. Gary took Darrelyn to have breakfast, while I showered and Breanna slept. He even brought me back a coffee and bagel. Bre woke up shortly after they returned and we all got dressed to meet with Dan and Yvonne for Brunch.

We had brunch at Bruno's. They have a waffle/omelette buffet that is awesome. The girls eat free and love the fresh fruit. I dove into the sausages... I know great choice considering my tummy problems... and Gary loved the omelette. It was really nice to chat with our friends and catch up on stuff.

Next we went to WalMart to pick out a birthday gift for one of Darrelyn's class-mates. Darrelyn didn't want to pick something out if she couldn't have anything. So Breanna came in to the store instead. She picked out a lovely gift.

Then, it was back to the hotel. Breanna had a bath and Darrelyn watched cartoons. The girls put on their pretty dresses (supposed to be for Easter) and we headed to my Aunt's 65th birthday party. It was awesome!

After her party, we went to Chapter's, of course. We really need a Chapter's in Saint John. The girls each picked out a book and Gary picked out two books. I'm still doing good with what I have.

Gary and Breanna were tired, so I dropped them off at the Hotel and Darrelyn and I headed out to my cousin's house. Darrelyn had a blast playing with his children and I enjoyed catching up with everyone. We left around 9pm and Darrelyn was asleep within 5 minutes of hitting the road. I brought her back to the hotel and then went back out to get Gary a Veggie Sub. Yes, I know, I'm a wonderful wife!

This morning, we got up and dressed and went to breakfast. Who do we see, but one of our neighbours. We laughed that we live on the same street and have to go to F'ton to see each other.

We drove home after breakfast and arrived just before 11. I fed the girls an early lunch while Gary cleaned up the house (it was kind of messy since I wasn't feeling well when we left) Then I dug out some shorts and a t-shirt for Bre and we headed to Soccer.

She had a great time. She bounced the ball off her head. Kicked the ball in the net and stopped the ball from going in the net. I happen to think she has a real talent 8-) Oh! This, officially, makes me a "soccer mom"

When I got home, I threw some laundry on and got to work on wrapping Darrelyn's friend's present. Breanna helped me wrap it. Yes, that's right, Breanna... not Darrelyn *sigh*. Then I made Darrelyn help me make the card. She did all the printing and then was exhausted. 'Cause, you know, "Happy Birthday *****, From Darrelyn" is a lot to ask *double sigh* Then Darrelyn got ready and we headed out.

The birthday party was good. Darrelyn's friend's mother is the younger sister of one of my friends from elementary/junior high. It was neat to see her again and catch up. I also had a chance to chat with another mom that I see at the school. Another great thing about the party was that they knew Darrelyn had a little sister and made a grab bag for Breanna too. Bre was sooo happy and I must say it was well deserved! Go, go Karma!

When we got home, I worked on laundry (it suffered last week) and fed the girls. As for the rest of the night. I plan to relax.
