The things we do for love

Yet another week has gone by without a post. I'm such a slacker. So what is happening in my life?

Gary starts his Chemo this week. I have cancelled my Bangor, Black Friday shopping trip and I have quit dancing for the rest of year. I was really looking forward to the trip and, as everyone knows, dancing is my passion. But I love Gary more than anything in the world and I want to be here for him.

Darrelyn has been home sick with an eye infection, two ear infections (both close to rupturing) and a throat infection. Thank God for "Banana Medicine"! I picked up her school work while volunteering yesterday and she got caught up yesterday afternoon. The teacher gave me everything up until Thursday. This is a good thing because Darrelyn was up again last night. She should be ready to go back to school tomorrow though.

Breanna has been reverting back to having accidents. I'm trying to discover what could be causing this. Its not all bad though. Her behaviour and manners are coming along quite nicely. Yesterday, she went to leave the dinner table, stopped, came back, sat down and asked to be excused. YAY!

Laundry is calling (or buzzing if you want to be literal) so that's it for today's update.

A day in the life of a SAHM

Here is the rundown of my day thus far:

  • two girls dressed, cleaned and fed
  • myself dressed and cleaned (still no appetite)
  • drove Gary to work
  • dropped Darrelyn off at school
  • came home for an hour or so and did some house cleaning
  • drove Breanna to Cara's house
  • went to Darrelyn's school for the hot lunch program
  • picked up Breanna
  • picked up Darrelyn
  • went to the grocery store to pick up butter and sugar
  • made chocolate chip cookies for the bake fair tomorrow
What is left to do:
  • pick up Gary (as soon as the cookies finish baking)
  • make supper
  • clean up after supper
  • make Darrelyn's lunch for tomorrow
  • go to dance class
  • have a shower and go to bed
There you have it!

Friends are wonderful, never take them for granted!

I realize it has been a long time since I have posted. The past week or so has been very stressful for me and I didn't want to blog something that I would regret later.

During the past week I have really discovered what its like to have true friends. They were the ones who helped me through my stress and anxiety and stood by my side. You know who you are... Thank You for being there, even if just to listen to me rant ;)

In happier news, Darrelyn is doing well in school. I think. She seems to do the homework with no problems and has already read two books (simple ones of course). I guess we will know for sure when the report cards come out.

I have been and will continue to volunteer at Darrelyn's school for pizza day. I get to wear plastic gloves and divy out the pizza amongst the different classrooms. Go me :) I have also joined the Home & School Association and will be volunteering for different events going on at the school. My only criteria is that I am able to do it with Breanna. Thanks Sarah for offering to watch her during pizza days. I really appreciate it!

Breanna has been playing better with other children lately. Its hard to force myself to bring her into social situations because she plays so well on her own and actually prefers alone time.

Due to the stress and a cold, I have lost about 4 pounds and am now at the bottom of my weight-range. See there's always a silver lining ;)

I am now looking forward to the U.S. Thanksgiving. I'm already getting the Black Friday specials and making my shopping list. We will be leaving Thursday after supper and returning Saturday evening. It will be nice to get away again. Look out Bangor cause here we come!
